La experiencia nos ha demostrado que si el paciente es capaz de captar como se produce el sonido y que órganos intervienen en él, se implica más en la realización de los ejercicios y avanza más rápidamente. De allí que recomendemos que el terapeuta explique con palabras sencillas el proceso de producción de voz: cómo son las cuerdas vocales, por donde ha de pasar el sonido porque es beneficiosa la respiración costo-abdominal, etc.
En el caso de las disfonías derivadas de hipertonía vocal, además de la relajación segmentada que proponemos en este manual (de cuello, hombros, lengua, mandíbula y velo del paladar), también recomendamos el uso de la relajación generalizada. El orden de ejecución de los ejercicios no es aleatorio sino que obedece a una serie de fases elaboradas sucesivamente en dificultad creciente, si bien su secuencia de aplicación puede variara a criterio del terapeuta, en función de las necesidades del paciente.

Las investigaciones han seguido dos caminos: el de las alteraciones neurológicas por un lado, y el estudio psicopedagógico de los factores que intervienen en el aprendizaje de las matemáticas, por otro, para tratar de hallar las causas del fracaso.
En este libro se hace una aportación, partiendo de la experiencia en diagnóstico y orientación de dificultades escolares; fruto de ese trabajo es el libro que presentamos. Se pretende encontrar las causas de dicho fracaso, y para ello se analizan los elementos que entran en la enseñanza (contenidos, didáctica, maduración psicológica de los niños), junto a otros aspectos como el entorno socio-cultural y problemas específicos.
