In most cases, the child should never limit himself/herself to working in isolation and in silence; rather, the work will be characterized by a constant oral elaboration of the situations that arise and by the application of all the resources available to the trainer in order to get the most out of each task. One must always be alert to detect those situations in which the child has greater difficulty and be able to determine whether it is strictly a failure to understand what has been read (caused by a possible distraction, by reading too fast, by omitting a word that alters the meaning of the sentence, etc.) or whether the problem lies in the fact that the child has not previously incorporated the concept to which reference is made. For example: if the child has to identify whether the ball is on top, underneath, to the right of the table, etc., and solves it incorrectly, it is possible that he/she has not yet clearly acquired these concepts. In such a situation, work will be backtracked to affirm these spatial notions as the reeducator sees fit.
These exercises can be applied in both individual and group sessions. In the case of group sessions, the speech therapist or teacher will be free to select, adapt or vary the work, according to the average level of learning possibilities of the group of students he/she attends.

La prueba de evaluación fonética-fonológica (PEFF) es un instrumento informatizado, diseñado para valorar la producción (fonética) y uso funcional (fonología) de los elementos segmentales y suprasegmentales del habla hispana.
El PEFF puede ser administrado a niños a partir de los 2 años y medio a 6-7 años. La corrección informatizada le permite al usuario visualizar el desarrollo y aprendizaje normal o retrasado del componente fonético-fonológico del lenguaje. También, le ayuda a identificar y diferenciar los errores fonéticos y/o fonológicos que presentó el evaluado. Asimismo, le brinda una descripción de los tipos de errores y cuál fue su nivel de inteligibilidad del habla.
Además, de examinar detalladamente la fonética y fonología, cuenta con otras subpruebas (anamnesis, percepción fonológica, tasa máxima articulación, acento léxico, entonación) que contribuyen en la identificación de otros síntomas y la posible etiología.
El PEFF es una herramienta clínica que permitirá al especialista:
- Realizar una aplicación rápida y fácil.
- Obtener un informe de evaluación que contará con un perfil fonético-fonológico para la edad cronológica.
- Identificar y describir:
- Los errores fonéticos y fonológicos
- El porcentaje de consonantes, vocales y grupos consonánticos producidos correctamente
- El nivel de inteligibilidad del habla
- El porcentajes de errores (sustituciones, omisiones y distorsiones), etc.
- Establecer un diagnóstico preciso.
¿Cómo se administra la prueba?
Es una administración individual. El evaluador se sienta con el niño delante y va registrando las respuestas bien en papel, bien en la plataforma digital*. Las primeras subpruebas (1 a la 3) tienen aplicación en papel y en digital, y son las que se reflejan en el informe. El resto de las subpruebas (4 a la 10) solo se pueden realizar en papel.
¿Cómo se corrige la prueba?
La corrección del PEFF consta de dos partes. La corrección de la primera de ellas se realizará exclusivamente de forma online (subprueba de la 1 a la 3), a través de internet, lo cual permite obtener un informe interpretativo. El evaluador deberá introducir las respuestas emitidas por el evaluado a cada uno de los ítems en la plataforma.
Online (Subprueba 1 – 3) / Manual (Subprueba 4 – 10)
Las puntuaciones de cada sujeto evaluado se procesarán automáticamente. Un algoritmo de cálculo procesará las respuestas a la prueba para ofrecer los resultados de su aprendizaje segmental y realizar una comparación del individuo con su grupo de edad, así como un desglose de los errores cometidos a nivel fonético y/o fonológico (sustituciones, omisiones, distorsiones). Con ello se consigue obtener un informe que arroja una impresión diagnóstica global, destaca los aciertos y errores (fonéticos y/o fonológicos) y proporciona una descripción de estos. Además la estructura del informe es de fácil comprensión para el lector.
Además, el PEFF cuenta con subpruebas que coadyuvan en la identificación de niños con riesgo de evidenciar un trastorno motor del habla (apraxia del habla infantil [AHI], retraso motor del habla [RMH] y/o disartria infantil [DI]).
